Perth Woodwind Repair offers a range of repair services depending on the needs of the musician. We are a local small business operating from a home workshop and also offer a pickup and drop-off service for your convenience. Our prices are very competitive, but will vary depending on the instrument to be serviced and the amount of work required.
Routine Service
This is a general service in which the instrument is inspected. Minor problems are identified before they become larger concerns. Your instrument will be fully cleaned, tested for leaks and keywork will be adjusted accordingly. Individual replacement of pads, felts and corks is included as part of the service.
Repair and Replacement
Perth Woodwind Repair can replace instrument pads, corks, springs and felts. Bends in instrument rods can be removed, along with removing small dents. We can fix snapped metal posts along with other small soldering jobs, perform work with cork to best fit mouthpieces and clarinet tenons and much more…
Full Overhaul of Instrument
This is our comprehensive service of your woodwind instrument. This is sometimes necessary in order to have it playing and feeling like new. The instrument is completely disassembled and inspected with restoration and repairs being applied to the body, keywork and tone holes. The instrument is fully cleaned, shined and finished. Any or all replacement of pads (including resonators), felts and corks takes place as necessary. Finally, keys are adjusted for correct heights for accurate pitch.

Andrew is a versatile, accomplished musician with over 20 years of experience playing woodwind instruments in both Symphonic and Jazz/Funk groups in the Perth area. Over recent years, and working under the professional tuition of internationally recognised woodwind technicians, he has steadily developed a professional understanding of the artistry of woodwind repair and service. He looks forward to helping keep your instrument feeling and sounding its very best.
